You are creating the menu items using seasonal fresh ingredients, cooking every dish from scratch in a newly furnished restaurant and kitted out kitchen.

As a brand new venue opening times and working hours can be varied so flexibility is key, but you will get out what you put in, with the chance to be part of the brands development as a day 1 starter, influencing what the business creates and involved in the brand growth.
Key Features of the Role:
As the Senior Chef you are the one who will be responsible for creating menu items which work and which make customers come back for more, bringing friends and family to try vegetarian and vegan sub-continent flavour combinations.
Flexibility, as the restaurant is initially looking to open 7 days a week for about 6 hours a day, with a lunch and or dinner service while they work out optimum opening times, challenges will happen and it is up to you to adapt and overcome, working with 1 other Chef and a FOH crew in an all for one team capacity. Open minded and receptive to new ideas and fusions.
Ability to train other Chefs to cook your menu items and dishes from scratch, helping them to understand ingredients, food preparation requirements, flavour combinations, quantities, cooking times and plate presentation, so everyone in the kitchen can cook at the same level.
Responsible for the cleanliness, health and safety of your kitchen and team, making sure the working environment is respectful and engaging, as well as making sure guest satisfaction is achieved.
You want to be able to create a core template of successful dishes and menu items which can be recreated at new venue openings by other Chefs that you have hired and trained, as the brand grows so do you and so does your financial reward for your time, effort and loyalty.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Sub-continental menu creation and cooking experience is essential, you need to know and understand flavour combinations, recipes and produce for authentic tasting dish.
Someone who has worked as a Senior Chef on cruise ships and has experience cooking Asian, Indian, Malaysian or a fusion of these cooking influences is ideal.
A Vegetarian and or Vegan Chef background is also of great interest and would be considered as having relevant transferable skills and knowledge which are viable.
100% fresh food Chef who prepares their own menu items, and who cooks to order from scratch is an essential background experience requirement.
Experienced in menu pricing GP and sourcing seasonal fresh ingredients, as you are looking to create accessible dining costing roughly £4 - £8 per plate, similar to tapas size portions.
Experienced in kitchen health and safety and all of the other required day to day duties and responsibilities, clean down, labelling, training others, etc.
Ideally you will have worked in a similar restaurant with a capacity of around 30-35 covers.
What’s on Offer?
The Senior Chef will be offered an hourly rate ranging between £10ph - £20ph depending on experience and how you come across at trade test and interview.
A permanent opportunity but hours may vary due to the business needs and requirements, as this is a new opening and the 1st of its kind, 7 days a week might be required during the start-up phase, but this will wind back once the venue and kitchen team are established.
As a Day 1 Starter in this concept venue you have the chance to develop with the business, potentially becoming one of the senior management team, and receive a share of the business, and train other Chefs as new sites open, enjoying the financial rewards this brings.
