The Company is an independently owned Hampshire based hospitality Group with venues all across Hampshire. Each with enviable reputations for freshly produced and sourced food, cooked to the highest possible standard.
As seasonal trading picks up again in both the consumer market and corporate functions, weddings, events etc. The Company is looking to bring in new talented Sous Chefs across its venues. This gives you a unique opportunity to get your foot in the door with a progressive and growing business. These are permanent full time positions.
Each venue will have their own unique concept twist and target market. So this is a great opportunity to learn and develop many different skills. As well as gaining more knowledge and experience, through career development plans and progression.
Key Features of the Role:
Each venue is looking to grow its reputation and market share through their unique food concepts, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients to produce amazing food and dining experiences for the clientele.
You will work as part of a brigade in a busy kitchen. Working on diverse menu items and to service deadlines and targets as set by each venue. Using your organisational skills, time management and Sous Chef experience, you will be expected to take great pride in your work and inspire others through your leadership.
The Company will require you to work 48 hours per week, usually 5 days working and 2 days off. Shifts can vary depending on the venue, and will be split in a morning breakfast shift, evening dinner shift or lunchtime till close shift.
Each venue’s kitchen will run a profit margin. So, it is up to you to make sure that each ingredient used and plate of food is good value for money and well-proportioned, with no errors and looking amazing to the eye.
The Company will look at moving their Sous Chefs around the business to make sure the new skills, knowledge and experiences are built up, so that each Sous Chef has a good base of knowledge and ability in all kitchen stations. For example, starters, fish, meats, soups, pastries, canapes, salads etc. Those that show the best aptitude, skill and talent and all round knowledge of the business will be prioritised for promotion within the group.
Knowledge and Skills:
The Company expects you to be an experienced Sous Chef who has worked in a fresh food kitchen at a similar level, or as an experienced Senior Chef de Partie who is looking to move up to the next level.
Your practical experience should be supported by some form of catering qualification.
You should have experience of working in a busy kitchen environment, having to manage your time and food orders. With a passion for producing the perfect dish every time, whilst under pressure.
The Company is looking for talented Sous Chefs who possess ambition to continually drive the business forward and who want to make a name for themselves. As well as someone who can lead a team through respectful communication and as an involved team player.
You will need to have a good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety
What’s on Offer?
A basic salary up to £24,000 depending on experience, with tips on top. Or a potential lower basic with a bonus option making a total OTE package of around £26,000 to £27,000.
